You can pack whatever you need on a climbing safari in Tanzania. Sometimes items to pack are always personal in nature however there are general items which are really necessary for a great climbing experience. I’m going to mention those items here from a personal opinion to guide you in order to have a great packing experience while coming to Tanzania:
If you like putting on formally, please don’t carry those formal shoes to Mount Kilimanjaro national park for climbing purposes, I guarantee that you shall not have a smooth journey. It is always advised to carry hiking shoes because of the rugged surface where you shall be stepping all the time. Hiking shoes have good soles which enable you to move through the different environments within the park. Don’t forget to carry hiking shoes, if you want to buy those types of shoes. Just move into big stores and ask for hiking shoes, I’m sure you shall get some kind of help. To be on the safe side, it is always better to carry at least two pairs of hiking shoes.
There are several hiking gears which are available on the market. You can go and buy some of those that you find however some of the qualities of a good gear are that it must be warm and easy to wear. Winter clothes can work as well however you need some kind of specialty clothes. There is a saying which says that the higher you go, the cooler it becomes. Whenever you climb Mount Kilimanjaro, it becomes colder and up the summit, it snows. Be aware of that and carry clothes that shall be able to withstand that kind of weather conditions.
It is better to be prepared for altitudes because altitude sickness is one of the reasons as to why many don’t reach the summit; you can prepare for this kind of situation by taking some kind of altitude medication. These drugs are just meant to prepare you mind and body to face any kind of altitude. During Mount Kilimanjaro climbing, depending on the climbing route, there are circumstances of rapid changes in the acclimatization conditions which might cause altitude sickness if you are not prepared. Just be prepared for altitude sickness.
Much as it is not a must-tool to carry during your Mount climbing experience, it is always better to carry a camera with you if you want to enjoy your climbing to the summit. Choose the best camera and come with it. when you start climbing depending on the route, you shall realize that there are so many photo taking opportunities. Sometimes if you are luck during the first days of climbing, you might encounter wildlife like the leopards, several monkey species, Elephants and other animals. These are normally found in the forests within the park. Those could be good photo taking opportunities. Don’t forget to take those amazing photos while at the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Remember to carry the camera charger with you as well.
Bring along some spare money if you plan to tip the porters, tour guides, cooks and other people that you shall meet along your journey in Tanzania.
There are other equipment which you need to carry to have a blissful climbing safari in Tanzania but in essence, the ones mentioned above are the basics. Book the best climbing experience with Kilimanjaro Bound.

The best time to climb Kilimanjaro is during the dry seasons: January–March (warmer, slightly quieter) and June–October (coolest, busiest, best weather). These months offer the highest success rates, clear skies, and better views.
Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a journey through five distinct ecological zones—from tropical rainforests to arctic summits. To reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m) safely, your gear must be professional, lightweight, and based on a high-performance layering system.
