Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire National Park has some of the highest population density of elephants as compared to anywhere in Tanzania and its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and distinctive location to visit.
Located just a few hours drive from the town of Arusha, Tarangire is a popular stop for people travelling through the northern safari circuit on their way to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. The park extends into two game controlled areas and the wildlife is allowed to move freely throughout.

Ngorongoro Crater.

Lake Natron
Lake Natron is a salt or soda lake in Arusha Region in Tanzania. It is in the Gregory Rift, which is the eastern branch of the East African Rift.
The lake is within the Lake Natron Basin, a Ramsar Site wetland of international significance.

Itinerary For Tanzania Walking Safari 9 Days
Day 1. Your arrival at Arusha or Moshi.
You will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and will be met by a member of the Kilimanjaro Bound Team and transferred to your hotel or lodge Arusha or Moshi.
We will meet you in the evening at your hotel for a safari briefing and an equipment check.
We will also confirm you have the appropriate mandatory medical coverage and travel insurance.
The rest of the day is free to relax, recover from your flight and prepare to start your Tanzania Walking Safari 9 Days early the next morning.
Day 2. Tarangire National Park.
After breakfast we head to Tarangire National Park. We pitch our tents at a campsite in a remote area of the park. This will be your first experience of an African Wilderness, once the camp has been made and following lunch we get out on our first afternoon walk close to the park border.
On returning to the campsite you will enjoy a relaxing dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3. Lake Manyara.
After packing up the camp and departing Tarangire National Park we head to Lake Manyara where you will enjoy another walking Safari, this time, you will be accompanied and guided by an armed ranger as you venture through the park.
Lake Manyara has a huge and varied and depending on the season you will also see elephants, zebras, wildebeest and even lions.
A safari at Lake Manyara, regardless of the time of year is always full of experience.
During the evening we will settle down at our new campsite at Lake Manyara for dinner and well earned rest.
Day 4. Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area.
Today we visit the largest intact Volcanic Crater in the world, the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. At more than 2,000 feet deep and 12 miles in diameter, the Ngorongoro Crater has one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Africa.
30,000 animals make their home in this crater, making it an ideal place for sightings of the ‘big 5’ – lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard.
We enjoy a picnic lunch in this truly world-class attraction, also known as the ‘8th Wonder of the World’.
Our campsite for this day will be on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater itself.
Day 5. Olmoti and Empakai Crater.
After breakfast, we will depart to Olmoti Crater for a half day walk and quite often we meet Maasai on the way to the water falls at the crater.
During the afternoon we proceed to our campsite at Empakaai Crater.
We shall take a walk into the area to experience the serenity and quiet beauty of this fascinating and wild area. During the walks around the lake we will see the natural springs, where you see a lot of the inhabitant wildlife. You will also see the magnificent Flamingos.
After the walk we all return to the Empakaai Crater Campsite to settle down, relax and enjoy this beautiful land.
Day 6. Lake Natron.
After a good breakfast we will walk from Empakaai Crater to Lake Natron. Descending the outer hills of the Great Rift Valley, we walk through the open plains of the Embulbul depression and passing through Naiobi village. At Naibi Village we will have a chance to meet and converse with the local Maasai Community that make this wonderful area their home.
Ol Doinyo Lengai and Mount Meru are seen along the way. We are taking our campsite with us and we will have donkeys to carry our luggage and equipment.
Later in the day we will reach Acacia Campsite where will set up for dinner and enjoy a restful and peaceful sleep.
Day 7. Odonyo Lengai.
Today we walk to Oldonyo Lengai, the single active volcanic mountain in Tanzania, Oldonyo Lengai means (the holy mountain of the Maasai).
The trail will lead us down into the Rift Valley Escarpment where the route is quite steep and challenging.
After 5 to 6 hours of walking we reach the foot of the inspiring mountain, Oldonyo Lengai.
On arrival you can decide if you want to camp at the Chini Ya Mlima Campsite or you want to proceed to the Engaresero Campsite, which is much more comfortable and has a working shower.
Day 8. Arusha.
After breakfast and collapsing our campsite we will return to Lake Natron where you will experience the culture and traditions of the local Maasai.
Your local guide will show you a Maasai Boma and explain the way of life for the Maasai people.
Following this experience we will jump into vehicles and drive back to Arusha or Moshi.
Day 9. Return to Arusha or Moshi.
After breakfast we will travel to Arusha or Moshi where you will have the rest of the morning to relax after your great Tanzania Walking Safari 9 Days and explore the town, especially the Masai market.
