Arusha National Park.
Arusha National Park (ANAPA) is a gem of varied ecosystems and spectacular views of Mount Meru, the crater that gives the region its name.
It is a popular destination for day trip visitors who can embark from the town of Arusha on the longer Northern Circuit Safaris.
Although Arusha National Park is small in comparison to some of the other Tanzania National Park it includes the slopes, summit, and ash cone of Mount Meru, the Momela Lakes, Ngurdoto Crater and the lush highland forests that blanket its lower slopes.
Game viewing around the Momela Lakes is at a laid-back and quiet pace and while passing through the forest many visitors stop to search for troupes of rare Colubus Monkeys playing in the canopy.

Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire National Park has some of the highest population density of elephants as compared to anywhere in Tanzania and its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and distinctive location to visit.
Located just a few hours drive from the town of Arusha, Tarangire is a popular stop for people travelling through the northern safari circuit on their way to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. The park extends into two game controlled areas and the wildlife is allowed to move freely throughout.

Lake Manyara.
Located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park offers varied ecosystems, incredible bird life, and breathtaking views.
Located on the way to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, Lake Manyara National Park is worth a stop in its own right. Its ground water forests, bush plains, baobab strewn cliffs, and algae-streaked hot springs offer incredible ecological variety in a small area, rich in wildlife and incredible numbers of birds.

Serengeti National Park.
The Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa.
The Park can be divided into 3 sections:
The popular southern /central part (Seronera Valley), is what the Maasai called the “serengit”, the land of endless plains. It’s classic savannah, dotted with acacias and filled with wildlife.
The western corridor is marked by the Grumeti River, and has more forests and dense bush.
The north, Lobo area, meets up with Kenya’s Masai Mara Reserve, is the least visited section.

Ngorongoro Crater.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area spans vast expanses of highland plains, savanna, savanna woodlands and forests.
Established in 1959 as a multiple land use area, with wildlife coexisting with semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists practicing traditional livestock grazing, it includes the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest caldera.

We depart from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and travel to Arusha National Park, where we view the herds of buffalo in the spectacular Ngurdoto Crater, the flamingos of the Momela Lakes, and the imposing peak of rugged Mount Meru.
Arusha National park houses a variety of wildlife, including giraffe, zebra, colobus monkeys, leopards and hyenas in the park’s small but bustling 53 square miles of natural habitats.
Enjoy a picnic lunch while gazing at the rolling hills and wooded Savannah’s of this national treasure. At the end of the day, we return to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3. Tarangire National Park.
Today we drive to Tarangire National Park, for some fantastic game viewing. Tarangire is a small park which offers some excellent sights.
In the dry seasons Tarangire comes alive as wildlife and birdlife congregate on the Tarangire River, which is a permanent source of water.
After a full day within Tarangire National Park we spend the night at a lodge that is beautifully set inside the park with stunning views and a unique atmosphere.
Day 4. Lake Manyara National Park.
Today we drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of enjoying nature as it should be, wild and untamed.
This is one of Tanzania’s smaller parks but still offers a rewarding and diverse safari experience. The shore at Lake Manyara teems with bird life and while you are looking for the birds, you might spot one of the elusive tree-climbing lions.
There are a surprising number of other large mammals and the striking cliffs on the Rift Escarpment form a dramatic backdrop.
In the late afternoon we make a short journey from the park to our special tented camp for dinner and time to rest and reflect for the next day.
Day 5. Serengeti National Park.
We continue our Northern Tanzania Safari 8 Days by moving onto The Serengeti National Park.
On route we will take time our to visit Olduvai Gorge. It is within this steep sided ravine that Louis and Mary Leakey made some of the world’s most important archaeological discoveries in the 1950s. At Olduvai Gorge there is a small museum we are able to see evidence of our ancestors that have been dated back 2.5 million years.
After lunch we drive into the Serengeti itself and the rest of the afternoon is spent game viewing in the vast plains that are broken only by stands of acacia trees and the occasional kopje. In December, January and February we will normally meet the migration with large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle.
There are always plenty of resident animals, such as giraffe, buffalo, and elephant and many large predators such as lion, cheetah, and leopard.
We will be accommodated overnight within The Serengeti National Park.
Day 6. Serengeti National Park.
We have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our experienced Safari guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year.
You will spend time at the Hippo Pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles. During your visit you may be lucky and see the prides of lions or be in the middle of the migration season, where we are sometimes surrounded by wildebeest and zebras.
We journey from the wide open plains to the Kopjes: these volcanic rocky outcrops provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals and from the top we can look out across the vast grasslands of the Serengeti.
This diverse and interesting landscape will provide us with the ultimate in game viewing and we will see all of the plain animals, elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions and it you are lucky the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of interesting bird life, from the elegant secretary birds to the flightless ostrich.
At the end of a very long day you will return to the camp exhausted but happy, ready for a nice relaxing evening surrounded by nature.
Day 7. Ngorongoro Crater.
We start the day with an early morning game drive within The Serengeti National Park before heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Ngorongoro is a special place because it is a Conservation Area, this means that the whole area is managed for both the animals and the local Masai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife.
During the drive in Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area we have a chance to glimpse something of the Masai way of life.
After stopping at the entrance gate, where there is a chance to learn more about this fascinating volcanic landscape, we will drive around the rim of the Crater itself and from here we can look down and see the herd of wildebeest and buffalo.
Finally we descend into the crater itself. The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for the animals, which means there is plenty to see: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhino and leopard (if you are lucky). The only animal you won’t see in here is the giraffe, whose long legs are unable to cope with the steeps sides of the crater.
We will finally retire t another camp for a nice dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8. Return to Arusha or Moshi.
After breakfast we will travel to Arusha or Moshi where you will have the rest of the morning to relax after your great Serengeti National Park Safari 8 Days and explore the town, especially the Masai market.
